I think I'm officially a bad person since I thought about Maude Flander's death with regards to this 'tragic' accident. It's called a safety rail for a reason...I wish I could die getting a baseball and get a statue as a monument to my ignoring a safety sign.

ACTA in a Nutshell –

What is ACTA?  ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. A new intellectual property enforcement treaty being negotiated by the United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada recently announcing that they will join in as well.

Why should you care about ACTA? Initial reports indicate that the treaty will have a very broad scope and will involve new tools targeting “Internet distribution and information technology.”

What is the goal of ACTA? Reportedly the goal is to create new legal standards of intellectual property enforcement, as well as increased international cooperation, an example of which would be an increase in information sharing between signatory countries’ law enforcement agencies.

Essential ACTA Resources

  • Read more about ACTA here: ACTA Fact Sheet
  • Read the authentic version of the ACTA text as of 15 April 2011, as finalized by participating countries here: ACTA Finalized Text
  • Follow the history of the treaty’s formation here: ACTA history
  • Read letters from U.S. Senator Ron Wyden wherein he challenges the constitutionality of ACTA: Letter 1 | Letter 2 | Read the Administration’s Response to Wyden’s First Letter here: Response
  • Watch a short informative video on ACTA: ACTA Video
  • Watch a lulzy video on ACTA: Lulzy Video

Say NO to ACTA. It is essential to spread awareness and get the word out on ACTA.

An Ode to Jeffrey Eugenides

Jeffrey Eugenides
I wish I had your brain
I would feast on it like a zombie
If it would absorb into mine

Jeffrey Eugenides
Keep in good health
At a book every decade
I need at least 4 more
Before you die

Jeffrey Eugenides
You have written about my maniac high school days
My confused undergraduate university times
And now my post-grad waif existence
I'm excited for what you write about my motherhood

Jeffrey Eugenides
One day I will be able to describe my love for you
Until then I will keep passing around your books
So someone more eloquent than me will be able to

When it comes to friends you are popular. In terms of the way you relate to people, you are keen to please. Your writing style (based on a recent public entry) is absurdly obscure.

last night my mom, sister and I went to see 'water for elephants' and like the book it was a good but easy read. basically it was your typical dramatic love story but the thing that made it unique was the circus element. actually the romance isn't the center of the story it really is a coming of age story for footface I mean Robert Pattinson and what do you do when growing up into your own person? you have a crush on someone you shouldn't have a crush on. but overall it was a nice movie night out

what really stuck with me was the trailer for this movie

seems familiar? because it's a total rip of the Lizzie Mcguire movie! complete with Disney teenstar!

If I was Hilary Duff, I'd be pissed and enquire about legal actions against Selena Gomez

apocalypse now-ish

so hearing about a flock of birds being 'scared' by fireworks and simultaneously dying was sad/amusing but not concerning

that is until I read this http://www.eutimes.net/2011/01/birds-and-fish-are-now-dying-all-around-the-world/

and saw this http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=201817256339889828327.0004991bca25af104a22b&ll=44.339565%2C5.273438&spn=124.270307%2C226.054688&z=2&iwloc=0004991c2e41cf55affcb

School Again!

I love school

I love learning

I love how I have a residence room, for a little bit it was touch and go

I love how it's the Year of Felicia so I'm going to join a club and a sport group because I have time for me

I also have a secret indulgence for this author of teen books http://www.amazon.com/Bones-Mortal-Instruments-Cassandra-Clare/dp/1416955070/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1220825930&sr=8-2
I've been a huge fan of her fanfiction, novel length Draco series, which were better then the real stories that Rowling wrote and I was so happy for her when she wrote a real book and it's just fabo and yesterday I went to Indigo and from 6:30 to 9 read the sequel because it's not in paperback yet and I'm cheap and it was good! Reading her book is like watching Buffy, a unique way of seeing teenage life and it's dramas and witty writing, I actually chuckled aloud when reading, the 2nd book was better since and the exposition and the 'plot twist' in the 1st book were done with

here's what's on the menu school-wise

Victorian Realist Novels

Colonial Canada

I've signed up for 2 other classes and I'm waitlisted, the reason why I don't have 5 classes is because a class i signed up for got cancelled and everyone was bumped to Wed but that's when my American history was so tough for me

a whole lotta notta

that's basically what has happened in my life this summer, mostly work, which i have more of this year because more people keep quitting/getting higher up on the food chain so i have more hours like crazy

but here's what's happened

social: emily's wedding went well, right now i'm writing about the whole experience in my notebook that i take to work to kill time, so when its finished i'm going to type it all up and idunno it will be a short story or a novella or something by the looks of it, but go on facebook and there are pictures of me in a pink dress looking pretty fetching if i do say so myself
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=797473&id=501507423
it was an interesting experience, i was happy but really lonely at the same time, more about that in the story

hopefully i can see my friend leslie before she decides that she likes england more then me and leaves me forever ok like 5 years or so but the point is i'm going to be force to make new dinner buddies! i'm so mad! i hate making friends! i just don't want to put the effort into it, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do

work: so i think there's an unoffical rule that every girl in the artist booth gets her own security guard, at least thats what it seems like i'm not complaining its a nice benifits package, mine's jacob who's 24ish, 6ft, brown hair, dark blue eyes, he's cute not smoking hot but he's just really really nice and friendly so that makes him hotter then the really hot security guard with a sexy scar on his face but never smiles or says hello, so yea that's a highlight of my work day if our shifts collide
another upside at work is phillip, who's younger then me by like 1 year, tall, funny and sweet black guy who i enjoy flirting with and making all the other people in the office think 'how come she always gets hugs from the boss guy?' well its because we knew each other last year and who doesnt want a felicia hug? so suck on that jealous coworkers
then there's my very good friend chris cherrie, who loves me (he wrote it on my pants) and he got promoted from being an artist to a teamlead, which is good because now he can do more but bad because i don't get to see him as much but he's really sweet and is the baby of the family of artists even if he isnt one anymore and we (lauren and I) adore him.

personal: so i seriously died in my fangirly soul over doctor who, i can't talk about it without getting really loud and hysterical lets just say that a good thing that came out of there being 2 doctors more threesome p0rn
after doctor who i decided to watch life on mars with the fab john simm, who i knew as the master from doctor who and he was amazing because he played my favorite kind of bad guy, the mad bad guy, like outrageous i'm doing it because i wanna bad guy behavior kind of like angelus, anywho life on mars, great 70s cop show with a twist and really good music, and stupid john simm could like verbally make a convent of nuns into whores he's that persuasive and hot
now i'm onto mad men, which is good but it's still freaky to see connor from angel not looking like connor aka he's filled out and i miss early 20s skinny vincent but other then that it's a really well done show, not because the idea is original (high power office drama but set in 1950s) but the main actor is really good at selling the idea to the audience and making me care about what he does as a person good and bad so yea good show

i hope everyone else is having a good summer

and listening to music from the secret garden late at night isn't a good plan if you think you're going to be emotional, like i am every damn time i watch this movie, gd
